About Scott Leydin
Scott Leydin is a Supply
Chain Management specialist with a passion and a proven ability for managing
third party logistics (3PL) service providers.
He has significant
experience in managing multi million dollar supply chain budgets, reducing costs
and improving service levels whilst developing and maintaining a strong working
relationships between all parties.
After a brief stint as the General Manager of one of Australia's leading express
transport and logistics companies Scott re-launched his consulting practice in
the early part of 2009.
Prior to his role with the AirRoad Group, Scott
successfully established and managed Leydin Consulting Group and worked with a
number of blue chip clients including Hewlett Packard, DHL, the Spotless Group,
Capital Finance, the RAFF, MYOB and many others.
Scott's
last corporate role saw him employed as a Program Manager with Hewlett Packard’s Global Logistics
Program Management Office.
The Program Management Office was responsible for the deployment of HP’s global
logistics strategies. His projects included leading the scoping and
implementation of HP’s distribution centre consolidation strategy in the Asia
Pacific region after the merger between Hewlett Packard and Compaq.
Prior to this role, he spent nearly 5 years as the Supply Chain Manager for
Hewlett Packard Australia and New Zealand. This role included responsibility for
all physical
distribution activities (international inbound logistics, import and export
compliance, warehousing, outbound domestic transport and reverse logistics) and the management of the outsourced logistics service
providers.
Before joining HP, Scott held a number of operational and management positions
with various service providers within the international freight forwarding and
logistics industry.
As a result of this he is in the relatively unique position of having
experienced life on both sides of the outsourcing business relationship.
Scott has also been a regular speaker at Australia’s and Asia leading supply chain
management conferences.
In addition to his extensive practical experience Scott is
also formally qualified having been awarded a Graduate Diploma in Logistics
Management from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) University.
Scott has also practiced as a licensed customs broker and is well versed in all
aspects of import and export regulations and requirements.
